Paul & Susan Sissons - Small River/Urban fishing It is said that 80% of fish are caught by 20% of anglers (maybe). It is most likely that 80% of fish are caught on simple flies. Keep it simple and go for those unusual patterns when necessary, less than 20% of the time. We’ll show simple flies especially for river fishing and some for lakes. 10-15 patterns each; for 80% of your fishing on rivers and lakes. Paul and Susan Sissons come from Bolsover in Derbyshire England. We’ve been Flyfishing for 15 years, we are both involved with the England Lady Flyfishers Team, Paul as Manager and Susan as member and twice gold medal winning Captain. We’ve been involved in Home International and European Flyfishing Championships and fish both Lakes and Rivers which is required for all round competition. We are both licensed coaches in the UK. Our talk will focus on small/medium river fishing, the flies and the methods. Focussed on Urban rivers (fishing on the cheap!), but to be honest the flies and methods are the same; you just need to identify the method to the type of water you’re fishing for the time of year.
